You know the feeling
You know it before it arrives. The ache low in your belly, the heaviness in your back, that first twinge that tells you the next two days are going to be hard.
So you start rearranging things. You cancel the dinner. You message your boss. You skip the class. You end up on the bathroom floor with a heat pack, waiting for the painkillers to do something, wondering whether this is just what a period is supposed to feel like.
I hear this every week in the clinic. And almost every time, the person telling me apologises for making a fuss.
You are not making a fuss. You are not an inconvenience. Severe period pain is not the price of admission for being a woman, and I would love to spend an hour telling you why.
An hour, in person, with me
I am hosting a small talk at the clinic in Moonee Ponds on a Friday evening. One hour, a small group, and a proper conversation about periods. No rushing, no being told to take the pill and see how you go.
Bring your questions. Bring a friend. There will be tea, there will be time, and there will be space to say the thing you have been meaning to ask for years.
What you will walk away with
- A clearer picture of what is actually causing your period pain.
We will look at what a typical cycle looks like, what sits outside that, and which symptoms are worth raising with your doctor rather than pushing through. Knowing what to ask for changes the conversation and how quickly you get answers.
- An understanding of how Chinese medicine looks at a healthy cycle.
I will walk you through how I assess the menstrual cycle in Chinese medicine, what I look at beyond the pain itself, and how acupuncture and Chinese medicine may be used as part of your wider care alongside your GP or specialist.
- Time with me, in person, to ask your questions.
This is my favourite part. A small group means nobody has to shout to be heard, and we can sit with a question properly instead of racing past it.
A little something for everyone in the room
Everyone who joins us on the night will receive a special offer, available for a limited time after the talk. I will share it in the room, so come along and find out.
What we will cover on the night
- What a typical period looks like, and the signs that are worth investigating further
- Two misconceptions about period pain that I hear constantly, and where they came from
- Endometriosis, what it is and the symptoms that can go with it
- Adenomyosis and PCOS, explained simply
- Why diagnosis can take years, and how to start the conversation with your doctor sooner
- The wider impact of menstrual symptoms on work, study, energy and relationships
- Why so many people feel dismissed when they raise period pain, and what to do about it
- How I work, from the first consultation through to a plan that is built around you

Frequently asked questions
Who is this evening for?
Anyone who menstruates and has questions about their cycle. Whether you have a diagnosis, are still trying to get one, or simply want to understand your body better, you are welcome.
Do I need to have a diagnosis to come?
Not at all. Plenty of people who come along have never had their symptoms properly assessed, and part of the evening is about knowing what to ask for.
Will I be put on the spot?
No. You are welcome to sit and listen the whole time. Questions are invited, never expected.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, please do. Partners, mums, sisters and friends are all welcome. Just book a seat for each person so we get the numbers right.
Is this a treatment session?
No, this is an educational talk. If you would like individual care afterwards, you are welcome to book a consultation with me at the clinic.
Come and sit with us
If any of this sounds like you, do not sit on the fence. Spaces are limited, and once they are gone, they are gone.
